For the first the first time in its five-year history, the Asian Universities Debate Championship will be hosted by a South Asian institution. East West University of Bangladesh won the right to host the tournament after promising a very comprehensive and cost-effective competition. The highlights of the bid include subsidized airfare courtesty of GMG Airlines, billeting at a five-star hotel (Westin Dhaka) and recreational activities. What’s even more impressive is that the registration fee is pegged at a mere 150 US Dollars.
I guess we should all save up for Dhaka, right? They seem to have a great plan.
In other news, College of Saint Benilde (Philippines) unofficially won the right to host AUDC 2010. Their bid will be confirmed in Dhaka next year.
