Only three teams per institution were allowed to proceed into the break rounds. Due to this, NUS 4 (#13) was capped and 17th-ranked UPD 2 advanced to the break rounds.

Five teams from Philippine institutions broke in the tournament. The list includes top-breaking Ateneo 1, DLSU 1 (4th), Ateneo 3 (7th),  UPD 1 (9th) and UPD 2 (17th).
