The College of Saint Benilde successfully hosted an Intervarsity tournament as a warm-up to the PIDC. The competition featured four rounds of preliminary debates with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. The CSB IVs was meant as a laid back tournament but it certainly didn’t stop debaters from all eras (even as far back as the precambrian) from strutting their wares yet again.

Team SYNful comprised of Ateneo’s Sharmila Parmanand, UP Diliman’s Nico Cabrera and UP Manila’s Yves Aquino bagged the championship as well as the top three speaker spots. All three are no longer debating competitively and are the country’s most respected adjudicators. The other team in the finals were the Manilasaurs - the troika Lasalle’s Estelle Osorio and UP Manila’s Adrian Rabe and Robin Lucas. Just like the members of SYNful, all three have been adjudicating for at least the past two years.

Ateneo A made the semifinals with the combined efforts of Shiveena Parmanand, Vinny Tagle and Pauline Gairanod. The last semifinalist were Poon+1 - Steph and Claudia Poon with Adrian Mundin of Ateneo.
